At Jaya Aum Health Retreats, we provide a soothing escape from the mental and physical stresses of everyday life with an eye towards holistic health and well-being for the whole person: body, mind and spirit. Staying true to the culture of the Hawaiian Islands, Rebecca and the rest of the staff care for guests in an environment that emphasizes natural healing through connection with the earth and respect for each individual's unique body type. We understand that everyone knows their own limitations and no guest will ever be forced to participate in any of our activities, but we do our best to provide opportunities for exposure to new perspectives on physical and spiritual health. The following outlines what is typically included on our Jaya Aum health retreats. While attendance at all classes is optional we nonetheless recommended you attend as much as possible, in order to experience the total healing benefits of a carefully constructed holistic health regime.
Salute to the rising and setting sun with 2 sixty-minute sessions of relaxing and uplifting daily hatha yoga, suitable for all ages and levels. At Jaya Aum we know that yoga is for everyone, all you need is your body and your mat. It’s never too late to come and learn fundamental alignment principles, learn to work and flow with your breath (pranayama), and have fun with yoga flow dance. We introduce you to a wide variety of yoga positions, all carefully suited to your age, experience and body type, stemming from the major yogic traditions. So no matter what your experience with yoga you will be sure to have fun and experience the enormous benefits of daily Jaya Aum yoga.
Learn an Introduction to Therapeutic Massage, combining the very best of eastern and western massage techniques including shiatsu, acupressure, deep tissue, relaxation, reflexology and much more. Give and receive massage to experience your body rejuvenated and stress free like never before. Your tension will be traced to its source and relieved at the deepest level. Learn delicious vegetarian cooking. We make all your meals deliciously healthy and low in fat from the highest quality locally produced farm-fresh produce. All our recipes are specially chosen to be simple, delicious, and incredibly easy to prepare, even when you return home. We will teach you step by step all of our favorites, so you can enjoy a scrumptious healthy feast for breakfast, lunch and dinner, with out any worries or cares. We use all organic produce whenever possible, and will be waiting to greet you with our famous Big Island mint smoothie, freshly squeezed juice and bliss balls.
We will teach you all the basics of Aromatherapy, including how to select and prepare a perfect blend of oils to match your specific condition. After learning about the 8 most important aromatherapy oils, now scientifically proven to be 70 times more potent than the original plant itself, you will also experience firsthand the powerful healing properties of aromatherapy by pairing up and learning how to give a rejuvenating facial and hot towel treatment. You will also receive the same blissful experience from your partner, using your own specially constructed aromatic formula.
Discover your constitution according to the ancient Indian system of Ayurveda (known as “Pita, Vata or Kapha”). From this you can understand a lot more about your own unique physical and emotional makeup and how different elements and environments will affect you. We will teach you what food is best for your constitution and create a diet of foods that will build strength and vitality for your unique body type along with recommending activities to best balance you, helping you to experience optimal health and harmony.
Learn how to relax your mind and rejuvenate your soul with meditation. We will teach you a variety of ancient mediation techniques which are proven to reduce stress, including mantra meditation which is joyfully performed in a group environment. You will dance and sing to ancient mantras that will cleanse away the worries and anxieties and transport you into a beautiful realm of happiness and deep relaxation. You will also learn to how to meditate like a yogi, finding stillness and harmony within yourself. We also cover a variety of powerful ancient breath techniques that you can practice at any time and place to instantly calm the mind and help you feel still and peacefully situated.

Enjoy a guided hiking tour of the magnificent world heritage volcano, a symbol of birth and regeneration and a sacred area to the native Hawaiians.
Rejuvenate and revitalize in ocean front thermal hotsprings, heated from the volcano and cleansed by the sea. Be lulled by the sound of the waves breaking into the pools and and a first class view of the sunset over the ocean.
Learn to surf with our experienced instructors at one of the Big Island's most famous and renowned surf spots.
